The title says basically everything.Because I did the huge mistake of buying a keyboard and a mouse that light up.I end up unplugging the PSU from the socket so I don't have to light up my room the few nights that my computer isn't running at night. Can this cause problems to the computer(capacitors or stuff like that)?

Advice kids: Don't buy hardware that light up if you are going to run them over night(including gpu(Don't ask why(Has enyone ductaped the r9 series leds yet? )))

EDIT- I don't unplug it while its running...For the ppl who are asking

Assuming you're turning it off safely (eg. Start>Shut down) and let it finish that process, then it's fine to unplug it from the wall, but, why not just unplug the offending peripherals?

Nope, And nope my R9 295x2 lighting red doesnt bother me since its soo pwetty, and i will sort of miss this colossus hybrid cooler when the WB is on it.

( and of course as long as you dont unplug the cable when its running. )

I have a corsair carbide 300r case (the one which has a useless(for me) place for fans(radiator) on top and the temp leds light up the wall)

Oh. So long as it's off when you do it, it's fine. But it would make more sense to flip the switch on the back of your power supply.

Just blank them off with sound dampening foam, it worked in the 400r, i think there are pre-cut strips to buy ( or like me buy a strip and cut it yourself )

What's wrong with peripherals and PC's being lit up at night :o it's so calming and helps me sleep.

Some people want it dark when they sleep, tbh the only color that bothers me when i try to sleep is normal light.

Does unplugging the computer before the safe shutdown affect the hardwares?

Yes, your 3.5 hdd's will turn to dust eventually as well as other components WILL take damage.
