Gaming rig for under 550$

I convinced my friend that the next gen consoles wouldn't be worth it and told him i could make one for under 550$. Cheaper in the long run because of the yearly fees for console.  Heres the result (this includes second hand parts because it saves money and it really doesn't matter.) It doesn't include a HDD because he already has one

 

AMD FX-6300

 

Corsair CX600 (for future crossfire and future proofing)

 

Sapphire Radeon 7950 3gb Boost

 

G Skill Ripjaw series  4gb 2x2

 

MSI 760GM-P23

 

NZXT Source 210 (how is this case so darn cheap, it's amazing?)

I personally have that Motherboard and I'm not very happy with it at all. and the price would've been an issue

As long he does not oc too much and won't do any crossfire in the future,that board you picked should be fine. How about 8gb of ram? Most the game i play currently use about 4.5gb of memory,so i fear that 4gb would not be enough.

Just make sure he doesn't OC on that board, only has 3 uncooled power phases haha.

Of course i wouldn't have him OC on that. My other friend who is a complete overkill, extremely expensive, and buys for price wanted him to spend 1000$ also wanted him to overclock everything.  This friend broke 3 670's trying to tweak the specs.
