Hi, i just joined I'm wondering what graphics card i should get. I'm deciding to go for the r9 300 series when it comes out. But the only problem is i don't know if the 980ti or titan x will be better. And im also hearing rumors about the r9 300 series have 4024 bit bus and stacked memory and probably 8 gb ram. Sincerly - Konrad

oh ya i heared the r9 300 series will have 20nm architecture while the 980ti or titan x will still have 28nm.

That's not the type of architecture we are talking about, you are talking about the manufacturing node, we are talking about what actual GPU goes into it, for example: the 980 has the Maxwell GM204 and same with the 970, but the 970's GM204 is slightly locked down.

Also there may be a 980, but probably late next year and it will need to have a new chip, since the GM204 of the 980 is not locked down, like it was on the 780's chip (THANK YOU NVIDIA!)

And about the "Titan X", until nvidia has a reason to release a new enthusiast card, like if AMD does one, we won't see one, ever.

If we do it will be called the "nVidia GeForce GTX Titan ZXT 990x2 Ti Boost GS Super Clocked OC FTW Direct CU II Kingpin Classified Phantom"

Also what will you use your PC for? i'm very positive in that all you need is a 970 or even a 760.

We won't know until you say your budget and what you will use your PC for.

Simply put, we have no idea whatsoever :). We don't even know if those cards are going to exist or not. There are rumors about the R9 300 series, but it's just that, rumor, we can't give you any reasonable opinion at this time. Wait and see, then ask us what to buy when the products you're interested in are actually being sold.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨
