Is this a good part list? I pretty much want to get 50-60 fps on 1080p on modern games at high settings.

Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor

Cooler Master Nepton 280L 122.5 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler

Asus Z87-Pro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard

Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory

Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB Video Card

Phanteks Enthoo Pro ATX Full Tower Case

EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer

Following the Build Plan Thread Guildlines:

1. I am in the US, and I have a budget of around $1000. I realize that this build goes over budget, but according to some handy dandy graphs, this build would only cost $900 during September 2014.

2. Only gaming

3. 1-2 1920 by 1200 monitors. No OS needed

4. No peripherals

5. Better gaming and upgrade possibility.

Get a Z97 board. Pro is overkill. Z97 Extreme 4 by ASRock is fine. Get 8GB RAM (2X4).

You only need about 450W PSU to run a 970. Get a 500. Seasonic G-550 is a good choice and is gold rated.

Add an SSD. With a budget like that, its worth it. Cut down to a 4690K so you have $100 for the SSD. Get an MX100 or 840 EVO.

Intel Inside. Overweight guy in his 30's outside.

Thanks for all your feedback.. The main reason why I am using a 4790K is because I want a little but of future proofing, along with the 16gb of RAM. And, yes, I am planning to do SLI later on. As per your recommendations, I upgraded my motherboard to the ASRock Z97 Extreme6.

Get an i7 when the time comes that you actually need one. At the moment it is wasted on a pure gaming pc.

Drop the cooler down to something like a Coolermaster Evo 212.

Also stay far far away from anything ASRock. Gigabyte and Asus are the better options along with MSI as a close 3rd.

The EVGA G2 750W as mentioned is a better psu if you plan on sli.
