External HDD won´t work with Tablet through USB hub

Hello guys,

so i bought a Tablet (Wintab 10). I know its on tzhe cheap side but it is just so my parents can listen to their MP3s.

Since it only has one USB port i also got a USB Hub. Via this hub i want to connect an external HDD (with its own power) and an external soundcard so i can have sound via toslink.

 

As soon as i connect both devices they work for a couple minutes and then the HDD has an Error along the lines of "USB device not reconginzed properly. Please disconnect and reconnect your device. If this does not work your device might be broken"

My Message is in German so it might be a little different then i translated it.

 

When i connect the hdd without the hub it works. And the soundcard works with and without the HUB. So i am not sure what the problem is. i also tryed to swap the hdd to another connector on the hub. and its still the same issue....

 

Has anyone an idea?
