For 45? oh that's fantastically amazing for a 4770k 1.45v  Does not really make sense considering I have never seen anything stay that cool with even custom loops at that voltage....weird

yeah 75c at max load overclocked, pretty good no?

It can get better on air cooling, but temps are decent.

It can get better on air cooling, but temps are decent.

I'm pretty much looking for the very best air cooler (single tower) that looks decent right now. I'm using a Noctua in my old rig but in my new rig I want to customize colors and stuff, not gonna work out if I buy a 2nd Noctua. The dual tower heatsinks perform close to AIOs but they are sooooo massive..

With my i5 3570k at 24/7 4.3Ghz and stock voltage using a Thermaltake frio advanced i have idle temps of 40ºC and on demanding games like AC Unity i'd get barely over 60ºC, other games i'd get like 56-59ºC. 

 

And ivy can get really hot

Not as hot as haswell. I have a h110 used as intake getting fresh cool air. My devils canyon (cooler than a 4770k), 4790k runs at these temps under burn tests at 1.3V with that kind of cooling. Now that I think about it, I feel like that review has something very wrong going on with it. What counts for their stress test?

Looks bit odd for reviewer to use so high volts on purpose. Or not use any better known coolers as comparison. Overall the performance is pretty normal.
