8320 bottleneck

Go to solution Solved by Deletive,

yes probably by a fair amount in most games

Yes. We could have answered that in your build topics though.

what about a 8350?

pretty much the same thing just costs more so it's even worse compared to i5.

how badly will the 8320 bottleneck the cards across 3 1080p monitors. how many fps will i lose

just get an i5, will come to the same cost considering you need 990fx and decent cooling to OC.

It will barely be able to push the second GPU if at all in 90% of games out there.

At that kind of res you won't see any bottlenecking.

Bottlenecking just means you won't get 100% usage of both your cards, but I don't think people realize that two of these cards will net you way past 120 FPS in most games anyway even at 50% of their total output.  Once you crank up the res, you'll see much more usage because there's an actual need for it.

Plenty of people are able to run this kind of beefy set up just fine on FX processors.  The thing you have to realize is that most people reporting bottlenecking issues have insufficient power supplies, temperature throttling or other such issues.

This guy runs games smoothly at 5670x1080, granted he did overclock the shit out of his FX8350 but trust me, if you're running games at the kind of resolutions where it's actually worth using a pair of 290's in crossfire you don't have to worry about a bottleneck.

An FX 8320 or 8350 is more than enough for what you want to do.

There's plenty of people running this type of rig just fine.

will a 8320 bottleneck 2 x r9 290

Yes it will.  It is already bottlenecking a single 290.

In some games that are CPU bound, it will be even worse.  You are better off buying an i5.

As the others have mentionned yes the FX was limiting the performance of my GTX 780 in most games and my cpu was a good one i had it clocked at 4.6ghz and i was still unhappy with it i had to upgrade...

here would be my suggestion if you are in the us...you could go cheaper by going with an i5-4440 or i5-4460 and a B85 motherboard but this is still a good value ATM:
