I'm really torn, you see I love T1 & T2 (even T4 was OK), both movies bring b1ack amazing childhood memories. I also love action movies, gratuitous and wanton violence on screen makes me smile so when I watch this trailer half of me is really excited cause it looks like a kick ass action movie while the other half of me is sad that they seem to have butcheed the original story in order to accommodate the new movie. You can't expect us to just swallow the new timeline and ignore everything we know from movies which were masterpieces of our childhoods, that's akin to them gathering us all up in an empty swimming pool, climbing to the top of the 10m diving board, dropping their trousers and taking a dump over us all.

I guess this post has confirmed I'm fucking furious they've done this to a treasured piece of my past.

Grrr.

I know this isn't tech but wasn't sure where it belonged?

I pretty much agree with all that.

Saw the trailer and was like...rehashed memories, in a blender, put back on the screen with all new characters but one.

Was hoping this entry to the Terminator movie series was gunna be 'proper NEW, not selectively newish'

Trying to appease everyone maybe..?

Oldies would like a new movie of course, and kids...well....who wouldn't like the franchise!

i like the ending where he says "ill be back' xD

yea i didn't understand the timeline at all, but hopefully 2+ hours of movie can fix that.

To be fair the timeline has been all kinds of fucked since T2. This seems to be rebooting the franchise kind of like Arbams' Star Trek did for that universe. Arnold Terminator raising Sarah Conner is really really really stupid though. Emilia Clarke for this kind of Sarah seems pretty fitting. Jai Courtney as Kyle on the other hand, that worries me.

Not really, its carries on from where T4 left off then takes a B2TF style tangent into an alternate past. Its not a reboot.

I won't take the time to understand the elitist timeline and say I liked all the movies (even Salvation) and I'll probably like this one too. If you want a truly incredible mindrape time travel movie then I suggest Predestination.

I run my browser through NSA ports to make their illegal jobs easier. :P
If it's not broken, take it apart and fix it.

So you know this isn't tech news but you still post it here?

Not sure where it belonged? How about NOT in Tech News?

Currently in tech news there's new Zelda on Wii u, Mario Maker & a game based on a movie. This is nothing more than all of them.

Your being really friendly towards a newb who still doesn't really know where things go around here.

Just incase its needed /sarcasm

You can't be mad when the time travel don't make sense... unless someone really creates a time machine and goes back to change stuff, nobody will have a way to know how various timelines will be created or affected. We have to assume by going back in time a second time the robots created an alternate timeline to the original Terminator movie, which was the same timeline as T2 and T3 (and probably Salvation).

Maybe there are some physicists out there who have better theories on time travel than I do, but I can't see any possible way going back in time will ever let you get back to the timeline you left from. Seems to me the only way to finish going back in time is to die where you went back. Your younger version will then live in the new timeline you created by going back... but then the timeline that sent you back doesn't exist.

I hate thinking about time travel.

Oh, but the movie looks awesome. I love terminator. Even T3 Rise of the Machines and Sarah Connor Chronicles. I miss that show!

Well it's time travel related: It's never really going to make much sense if you think about things, it has plot holes built in by it's very nature

I feel like it is going to turn into Transformers(Money grab). But the way they edited the bus bit was stupid, Getting unrealistically 'dinked' by a car and instantly cutting to it flipping in the air farther along the bridge
