Windows 7 Help

Go to solution Solved by flibberdipper,

I wouldn't. Drivers would be fucked up, and the key for Windows will probably stop working as soon as you use it in a different machine (since it was meant for that laptop).

Im just wondering if there is any way i could trannsfer windows 7 from an old HP laptop i have to a new gaming pc. I dont care about files, but the actual OS. Im pretty sure the OS was already installed when purchased (it was my Grandpas). I have a little experience with computers but would need something decently straight forward. Thanks!!!

No, don't even try. It will mess everything up, and probably not even work.

Well, actually... funny story about this subject.

My friend had an old HP tx-2000 series AMD 12.1 inch tablet/touchscreen digitizer laptop and when his brother spilled water on it, well, you know how that goes.

The odd thing was that we were able to boot a Desktop AMD platform natively, albeit with broken graphics and USB chipset drivers.

After installing the proper chipset and graphics CCC drivers, and rebooting, the system performed like it was naturally installed.

We still couldn't activate Windows the legal way, because obviously the key was an OEM HP laptop key, but point was it worked fine for 30 days.
