alphabeta

I'm dying to know why the prices on g2a are like that !? I mean they are like super super cheap

Don't know, but when something sounds too good to be true it isn't.

I saw the prices and immediately left the site, I don't trust it.

If anyone can vouch for it from personal experience it would be nice to hear about your purchase experience.

Well, if you want to offload keys, sell them there.

The only problem is that due to competition, the prices are really low and you get shit all for them. Also, G2A makes a fair few pennies off of every key, so you end up getting nothing.

That's why they're so cheap, the fact that people desperate to offload stuff drives the price down. Also, it's not as trustworthy as Steam.

I always just gift keys I don't want.

Thanks for the input.

I am curios, you say it isn't as trustworthy as Steam. Can you elaborate?

The prices made me think the site was a scammer's paradise. Is that the case?

I have bought a few games there, it's fine. Their customer service sucks from what I hear though.

Their prices are low because they buy keys where they are cheaper in currency (like a third world country persay) and then add 5$ and sell them.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

Hmmm.

Well I guess it works for some then.

I doubt I personally would use the site though.

I'll stick to my humble bundles and sales from Steam, Origin, and the like.

I'm not sure how you can make the statement G2A isn't trustworthy, have either of you even used the site before?

I've purchased two games from G2A, Shadow Of Mordor (after release) and Far Cry 4 (pre-release). Shadow Of Mordor worked fine, key was delivered within minutes. With Far Cry 4 I ended up cancelling my pre-order about a week before the game came out as I bought a GtX980 and could get FC4 with it for free. The whole process took about 10 minutes of online chat, with someone who could clearly speak (type) english, which is more than I can say for massive companies like EA.

I've read that people purchase keys at discounted rates, no different than what the Game Stops of the world do, and then sell them on there for less mark up than what you normally see. Publishers also sell games on G2A, they can be sold for cheaper because there is no middle man and therefore no additional markup.

In my experience, G2A is a place you should be going to price out games.

The reason G2A is so cheap, is people buy the keys when they are on offer in bulk and keep them as gifts, hence why most G2A games are redeemable as gifts, since they are easier to pass on. Users tend to get their hands on the keys during Steam Sales and used to be Humble Bundle before the gifting direct to steam accounts, i.e. when they used to just give product keys. I don't know if Humble Bundle still do this though. I haven't bought a bundle since the WB bundle back in August, if I recall correctly, probably not though.

It's fine. Just don't buy from people because there are people selling games on it too.

I've heard of people getting scammed there. However, as long as you pay with PayPal or by protected card, it should be fine.

It's when they buy from orther people using it as a marketplace.

I find G2A to fairly trust worthy. But then again, I have always purchesed a game/product with G2A Shield, where it may cost £0.70, it guarantees your key will work, if not, G2A will refund you.

Edit: Examples of Games I have purchased through G2A:

  • Outlast x2
  • Outlast: Whistleblower
  • Batman Arkham Origins
  • Batman Arkham Origins DLC

Also @ZetZet , Nice signature.

Been using the site for over a year with no issue. Not sure when almost everything became market sellers rather than themselves providing the product. I just take their G2A shield thing (costs like £1 extra) to make sure nothing can go wrong.

Well guess what.it's true.

Bought 18 items and counting and not a single problem, incuding delivery time of keys, i get them in about 2 minutes of purchase. Just this minute bought grid autosport for £4 and again, no problem.

The site is kinda like ebay where you buy ff the person with the best rating. a lot of people have sold 100's of items with 100% feedback, also using g2a shield guarantees a successful purchase, i can't really explain my experience with shield though as i have never had to put it to action.

I haven't heard of any outright scamming, personally. But I have heard of people ending up with a game key that is not valid or not usable in their region.

Some months ago there was a big mess where the publisher of Sniper Elite III had to revoke a bunch of keys that players had purchased (to their knowledge, legitimately) from third-party sites that ended up being stolen. I have no idea if G2A itself was involved in that, but it's a reminder to stick to the reputable retailers if you have any doubts: Steam, Green Man Gaming, GOG, Amazon, Humble Store, etc.

Good prices.

Also a lot of AAA titles there.

I have to start comparing their prices to other sites when looking at new releases.

I can't view the site now because I am at work, but when I get home i'm definitely looking into this.

That battlefield 4 price sounds real nice. haha

When you select a product there will be a blue arrow next to the price, click that and it will bring a drop down list of prices, look for the one nearest to the top with the best rating, what way you are getting it off the cheapest seller with the best rating. Also there will be a image that says shield next to it at the top of that drop list box, make sure it is selected and you are good to go.

If you pay with paypal then the link will be sent to that email address, if you pay by card then you will get a link to your address and in your orders page on the site.

As long as you follow those steps. good seller rating and use shield then you will be fine :)

Edit, if you are looking at getting battlefield they have the premium edition for £24

Thanks for the small tutorial. Appreciated.

I prefer paying with paypal whenever possible, so i'll go that route.

I want to watch some reviews about the additional content to see if the premium is worth it for me.

whenever i use paypal it gets sent to the email address on that account and my item doesn't show up in my orders (i still get the item though) I'm not sure if this is because my paypal email is different to my email i use on g2a, but just a heads up incase you use paypal and there's nothing in your orders.

However if you use the same email i suppose that will correct it.

I was scammed there for $300 worth of Xbox Live gift cards, took me 2 months to get a refund even with PayPal & G2A shield.
