I always recommend the cheapest ram you can get because it actually does not make a big enough difference.

also get the newest mobo if the price delta isn't too big.

If one does not fail at times, then one has not challenged himself.

Yeah, don't spend too much on RAM, because it doesn't matter at all. RAM is RAM no matter what you buy. 1600MHz is enough and you can always try to push it to 1866MHz, at least that is what I did. For the motherboard it is the same thing. Z97 boards are basically the same and deliver very similar performance across the board (diffrence in games usually 1 FPS or not existent). Get the one you like more and has all of the features you need/want. I would persoanlly go with something like the MSI Z97 Gaming 5 or Gaming 7. The ROG boards are also awesome, but come with a steeper price-tag. It's up to you really.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 - 3900x @ 4.4GHz with a Custom Loop | MBO: ASUS Crosshair VI Extreme | RAM: 4x4GB Apacer 2666MHz overclocked to 3933MHz with OCZ Reaper HPC Heatsinks | GPU: PowerColor Red Devil 6900XT | SSDs: Intel 660P 512GB SSD and Intel 660P 1TB SSD | HDD: 2x WD Black 6TB and Seagate Backup Plus 8TB External Drive | PSU: Corsair RM1000i | Case: Cooler Master C700P Black Edition | Build Log: here

i would have said the same thing...if you don't plan on using dual graphics card you could go with an even cheaper motherboard...an MSI Z97 gaming 3 or even the Z97 PC mate is a good choice as well because those motherboard have nice features for the price and the build quality is very acceptable.

Also with haswell the quality of the motherboard won't impact your overclocking results because most of the voltage regulation is done on the chip through FIVR (fully integrated voltage regulation) so it's very likely that you'd be able to reach max overclocks even on the lower end motherboard.

Id go z97 pro gamer because i like the red and z97 works better with haswell refresh

PC is Intel Core i5 6400, GIgabyte H170 Gaming 3, Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x4GB 2400Mhz ,Sandisk Ultra Plus 128GB, WD Blue 1TB, NZXT S340, ASUS Geforce GTX 960. Fractal Design Tesla R2 650W. http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/793XNG. Graphics card choices don't always have to be dictated on performance. If you want the game stream and power consumption of the GTX 970 get that. If you want raw performance of the R9 390 get that. In the end we are all gamers, so what if your buddy gets an extra 5 fps?

I think I will buy the Asus Z97-PRO GAMER. Regarding the RAM, both are almost the same price, so, which one should I get?

Kingston HyperX Fury DDR3-1600MHz 2x4GB

or

Kingston HyperX Savage DDR3-2400MHz 2x4GB

get the cheapest, RAM won't impact performance especially in regards to gaming.
