As stated in the title, I'm current using the corsair vengeance 1500's V1,and their sound quality is horrid, but the mic is great.

I want to know what the Logitech G35's are like.

Do people rate them?

What's the quality like? Build quality, sound etc.

I've recently won a pair, tempted to use them if they're good, if nothing special, I'll just end up selling them.

Thanks in advance. You guys are always helpful.

I was shopping for a gaming headset, and was considering the G35 and the Hyper x clouds. The clouds win in every regard. The g35 has terrible build quality, worse mic, worse sound, and the 7.1 virtual surround sound is clunky.

and i believe, the clouds are the same price. I don't know if the g35 is an upgrade from the 1500v1s, but if your going to buy a new headset, the clouds are a winner.

Is this personal experience?

I'm not currently shopping, but im selling my vengeance headphones, and these randomly appeared at my house (Assuming I Won them) So I was trying to figure out if they're worth using, but looks like i'll be selling them.

Leaning more toward the Astro A40's if im going for a gaming headset with decent quality, although might buy some high end headphones, SO MUCH CHOICE D:

My explanation of the G35 was based on views found after a lot of time spent researching online.

There's definitely a lot of choice :)

I have used the g35 for about a year and half so I have some thoughts on them.

Well they aren't terrible, but they aren't near perfect. Frankly they sound pretty good aren't super basey unless you put them into surround mode or decide to crank the sound really loud. I will say that music sounds better on my new headset (PC350) than my old G35, but for gaming Im a bit divided as my new ones don't simulate 7.1 which I didn't mind for games like BF4.  Unfortunately they aren't the most comfortable ones out there, the large headband causes it to become fairly heavy and uncomfortable after some time.largely due to the way they are designed to sit on the head rather than apply pressure on the side of head to stay in place. Also the cans don't swivel very much but that isn't to big of a deal. They do a fairly decent job at blocking out noise and the leatherette is fairly good, some internet user report that it can wear pretty fast but I didn't have that issue perhaps they forgot to shave?  The mic is pretty good, my friends couldn't notice a difference between it and my new sennheiser PC350's.

My largest problem with the G35 was more on the side comfort and quality. After a little over a year of ownership I had to RMA them as the USB sound system was malfunctioning in the unit. This is something that is fairly common with most USB Logitech headsets, and frankly why I'am a USB headset sceptic now. The RMA was painless and they sent a brand new headset and up until a week ago they were fine and if I was still using them they would be okay. The braided cable is super thick which is a great benefit if you have a cat that likes to chew things, but just becomes a huge pain as it often got tangled and never went straight it has permanent bends which I found rather annoying. The joint between the can and the headband is supposedly weak but  if you aren't rough it shouldn't be an issue, I had a small micro crack on my headset I had to RMA and that was after a year.

The Hyper X Clouds are actually a pair of beyerdynamic headphones/set.

Pretty much only heard good things about them, (Linus likes them too).

Qpad is another firm that sells rebranded beyerdynamic headsets, targeted for gamers.
They have a few VERY similar to the Hyper X Clouds, though not 100% sure on how they compare with price and features and so on.
Qpad also have a rebranded pair of DT770s. My buddy just picked them up, m8 - They are a bit pricy but MAN are they good for a gaming headset.
Mic is sounds pretty good to my ears, and the sound really does sound so much clearer than any other gaming branded headset I've ever tried.
PLUS they are compatible with any accessories the DT770s are. Which means you can actually swap the fabric foam pads to their valour (WHICH IS SOOOOOOO NICE, very comfortable). Anyways - those are my thoughts on the Hyper X Clouds, and some other products you might wonna concider.

As for the G35..
Only had bad experiences with them. They have been really popular in the past - but now everyone seem to be running away screaming for all of the reasons already stated..

Everyone have a cool signature. I don't, so I thought I would write something.

- Cool right?

Thank-you for your in-depth analysis on these headphones.

I truly appreciate the level of depth you went through to tell me the ins and outs of this headset, and i've come to the decision to not use these for myself, personally, as i feel it's going to disappoint me like the 1500's.

so after the bla bla text, thank-you for your input, it's good to hear my instinct was correct, I didn't think they were going to be very good.

Just have to suck it up and spend some coin on a decent headset.

Now it's time to toss up between the Astro A40's and the A50's.

Thanks guys!

My brother has both the A40's (paired with ASUS Essence ST) and the A50's.

For the price that you can get the A40 now during sales is insane here in Sweden, 1,000 instead of 1,500. For that price not many other headsets can get near it.

Overall the A40's is a better product than the A50's since you don't have to comprise sound for the wireless.

My brother uses the A50's while in bed, that's about it. Where as he uses the A40's for everything else. Hell, he even sleeved the cable for his pair.

I guess its preference but one of my buddies bought A40's and returned within two hours. The Headset wouldn't mute unless it was muted through windows or an application like teamspeak, and the mic sounded terrible - I could everyone in his house talking and hear them clearer than the actual headset wearer. Apparently, because I never tried them but they didn't sound all that good to begin with but my friend is in no means an audio person. Now I know he wasn't that mix amp device so maybe that would have changed things but I don't know. Anyway I guess like any "gaming" headset be cautious and perhaps try to buy it from a store where you can return it.

Thanks to both of you guys for you input.

I've spoken to one of my friends regarding their Astro A40 headset they bought, and they're absolutely loving them and have no concerns whatsoever.

My only concern is the open-ear design, other people will be hearing my music around me, which shouldn't be too much of a problem, as they won't be leaving my bedroom that often.

Again, thanks for your input guys, heaps appreciated.

I guess i'll wait for a sale on these babies :D
