I have an AsRock Z97 Formula OC motherboard, a 4790k CPU, and GSkill trident x 2400mhz RAM. I noticed my RAM is running at 1333mhz right now, and I heard about XMP profiles, so I went and checked and I am able to enable it to run  at 2400 like its advertised. But I also read that somehow that would void my Intel warranty? I don't know why it would, because it doesn't OC the processor when I do it, if intel only supports up to 1600mhz, am I hurting the processor by running my RAM at its advertised speed? I just don't want to void my warranty, and most importantly, I don't want to hurt any of the parts, but I know my motherboard supports 2400 RAM, because it lists 2400(OC) and I know the RAM is supposed to run at 2400, but the processor is whats throwing me off.

Let me know if you need any more information.

Thanks

-Bryan

the haswell controller might have a hard time running 2400mhz ram and your ram may not even be stable at that speed...anything above 1333mhz is considered overclocking and therefore is not guarantee....you should try slightly slower speed as it wont likely affect performance anyway.

Doing something to RAM won't void CPU warranty. I think they have warning there so people won't go calling Intels support when system appears to be unstable.
