Blood hungry AMD beast

PuNkPoEtS

hey all i am in the process of completing my system as i have slowly started getting the parts and finding problems with some and no problems with others.

my current build is

fx-6300 at 4.0ghz (would love to oc more but cooling is an issue at the moment until i get it under water)

asus sabertooth 990fx r2.0

g.skil 1600mhz ripjaws X 8gb x2

gigabyte hd 7870 OC edition

250gb samsung 840 ssd

2x 2tb seagate barracuda

antec 620 high current gamer modular psu

cheap dvd burner (internet in aus is almost as bad as EA)

and all wrapped in the Antec 1100 case

my future upgrades

dual 7970s in crossfire

complete water loop for cpu and gpus

silverstone TJ07 CASE

also the 3 x 5.25 to 4 x 3.5 converter for my storage drives

another 2tb seagate barracuda ( as i need space as i store ALOT of stuff on my comp and dont like the delete feature:P )

also upgrade the psu to something stronger atleast 80+ gold

Maybe you should upgrade your cpu too, i think your current cpu will bottleneck two 7970

I would probably buy a 700W gold for a dual 7970 rig. Also I think till that point, the new GPUs from AMD will have been released or at least leaked. In addition, change your CPU to something like the 8350 or the new 5Ghz and 4.7Ghz upcoming AMD CPUs(don't know their names) when they hit the market.

yeah with the gpus it is going to be the 7970 ghz ed until i see reviews on the next flagship they bring out or i might go back to nvidia and get the 780 which ever is better.

with the cpu i have only gotten that one as it was dirt cheap and i knew amd would be bringing out a new cpu in the future and i was going to see if it is worth getting it or waiting with this one

also once it goes under water i weill be pushing the cpu ALOT more then what is already is as it is running really hot

I would recommend against the Antec 1100, especially if you want to have a full water loop in it. It only has a 200mm fan up top and the front 2x120mm positions wouldn't fit a radiator.

Something like the corsair 400r would be a more practical choice.

Sorry I read the "My current build" as what you were planning on getting then later on upgrading... Oops :P

Maybe you should look at the Xigmatek Vector G for the power supply, they're 80+ gold, modular and go up to 850W
