I think there is a problem. Its saying i have 4gb mem when i have installed 8gb installed. Can anyone help me. This is my first computer build so bare with me.

So this is what im running:

Asus crossfire 5 formula z

AMD FX-9370

Patriot Viper 3 Series DDR 3 8GB (2 x 4GB) 2400MHz

 

I dont think the rest matters but im not the expert

Corsair RM850 

Asus R9 270X

Samsung 128gb 840 pro

WD 1tb blue

Would you be willing to swap DIMMs to test the other one? Take them both out and put in the other one.

32bit OS?

It says 64-bit in the screenshot.

It says in your system specs that there is only 4 gigs installed. I'd recomend a bunch of things. First try booting with each dimm by itself alone and see what what happens (both times there should be 4 gigs).

If that works then make sure you are using the correct slots on your MOBO for the RAM (usually its 1 and 3 but mine is actually 2 and 4) so consult your motherboard manual for that (no shame there)

then just make sure both sticks are pushed in realy well.

If all has gone well so far then do a memtest http://www.memtest86.com/

sorry it took me a little bit to get back with you guys. Ya i put them in the wrong slots, I put them at 1 & 3 when they needed to be at 2 & 4. Thanks all for the assist! I just had to go back though the manual when I was installing them to see which dimm went where when installing one memory chip.
