Hi guys,

I'm looking for a new mousepad. A middle sized one. I want it to be hard, and really soft, I want the mouse to feel no resistance at all. I want to be really soft and have a matte like texture that stays cold. I'd like something with a metalic texture. My budget is 40$.

You are going to need to make a bit more sense than that if you want a good answer.

So you want a hard, smooth surface? Instead of a hard, grainy one?

Any reason behind your preference for a metal surface? Metal is rarely used for mousepads because it's expensive and heavy.

I own and use, sorted from newest to oldest: SteelSeries 6Gv2. Microsoft SideWinder X4. Mionix Naos 7000. Zowie EC1 Evo. Microsoft SideWinder X8. Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0. Dell U2414H. Samsung P2270H. AKG K273 Pro. Sennheiser HD555. Razer Goliathus Speed Medium. Func 1030 L. Qpad CT Medium.

I used to own: Razer DeathAdder 3G. Razer Krait. IntelliMouse Optical 1.1. SteelSeries QcK.

Yeah that's it. No need for it to be in metal. It was just to give a comparison.

Well, personally I'm using a Func 1030L. I chose it because it's a dualsided mousepad, so I can switch between the grainy and the smooth surface depending on what I am doing. Func is also just about legendary when it comes to hard pads, so I figured it'd last a long time. And while the smooth surface has worn out quite a bit in the year that I've owned it, it still functions perfectly with my Naos 7000.
