I can hear my GPU in my headphones when there is a loot of FPS

Mr_KoKa

Hello, I have Creative SB X-Fi Gamer sound card, I bought it because I have heard noises when I was scrolling pages, that was on integrated sound card. Now with PCI sound card I don't hear any noises when scrolling pages anymore but when I don't lock FPS in games (ex. by vsync) and they will run at 250, 500, 2500 ( :o some 2D game I was developing in java :)) FPS I can hear noise, I plugged my output to microphone plug to record some of it, It's amplified so you can hear it, but it is not THAT loud as on recording.

I can tell that noise I hear depends of FPS, it has variable pitch ex. it's higher if there is 2500 FPS and lower when there is 2000 FPS.

I think I haven't that issue when I was using GTX 285 blow out cooling, it has plastic cover, now I have Gigabyte GTX 660TI and it has rather open cooler.

Do you think I can shield my sound card somehow to prevent noises? Is there any DIY solution?

I've tried to make SoundCloud account, but it kind of blows and keeps telling me to add email which I have did already so here is a link to download OGG file of noise http://www.wikiupload.com/BHC8Q0JDCGBHHIC. If you have any suggestions about place to re upload the file to, give me a hint.

I don't need to be pro to dislike latency.

This is why you shoudl have bought an external DAC. SOundcards are such garbage.

Is there anything to recommend, something that doesn't cost fortune?

I have to agree, everything feels way too... delayed is about the best way I can put it.

I have recently tested Creative Omni USB Sound Card, but I think it was faulty, it has a loot of noise and sound popping, ho is USB sound cards quality overall? I'm quite afraid to try them after then.

Unfortunately I don't have access to Amazon stores. And as far I saw, I would be able only buy things that aren't phisical, by "hacking" and providing US or UK post data, I saw some tutorials that tell to do that, so I guess there is no way for me to buy on Amazon.

About vsync, I really wish there would be some G-Sync 24" monitor to buy with decent price, not like $400-600. Don't get me wrong, $400 would be pretty good price, but as I live in europe, prices converts from $ to € 1:1 so it would become 400-600€, and it's 1/3 more expesive. For now, sometimes adaptive vsync seems ok, not so delayed, but sometimes event adaptive vsync doesn't work and feels "laggy".
