Not using 100% of the GPU

H4X3R

Try running a benchmark like 3DMark's Firestrike and show us results. Maybe you'll get different results. I had similar problem with a GPU I tested (I built some rigs for friends...).

I got 10500 which i assume is normal.

I'm talking about the GPU and CPU usage.

Oh, 100% on GPU and 40% on CPU.

Here's some stuff you can try:

1. If you're using the newest driver, delete it and try an older one. If not, do the oposite.

2. This may sound stupid, but check your power connectors on your GPU.

3. Try a more demanding game and check the usages (you can find something free2play on steam or origin).

4. Try this card on you're friends rig or take it to the local PC shop or somethin' and check the usages (again, maybe sounds stupid, just make sure his rig won't bottleneck the card and that it has enough power).

5. Also may sound stupid, make sure the GPU and the CPU are not overheating.

6. Restore your OC settings to stock on your CPU and GPU if you OC'd them in the first place.

Hope it helps :D

1. Done that already

2. PSU connectors checked.

3. In AC Unity i get 98-100% GPU usage

4. I'll try that soon.

Thanks for the help.

Oh, and i think i heard coil whine when i started up my computer (but it goes away, even when i play ac unity i dont hear coil whine).

About the coil whine - it's anoying, but it doesn't damage your GPU...at least I heard lol

Btw, try another demanding game and check the usages, you never know.

Heard the same thing about coil whine.

When running the gpu z benchmark i also get 100% usage.

Wait, what exactly is the problem? The link you showed us was something about TF2

Yeah, only using 30% of my GPU when playing tf2. About 2 weeks ago that number was 100% and my fps were also higher.

Hmm... have you forced TF2 to "prefer maximum performance" in nVidia Control Panel? If this is only happening with TF2 that's... odd.

I have finally moved to a desktop. Also my guides are outdated as hell.
