http://pcpartpicker.com/p/WykFHx This build should be fine. If you have a windows disc lying around or if you can show her how to use ubuntu. I chose a z97 motherboard in case you want to overclock the pentium a bit but if not you can get a cheaper motherboard.

Looks like crap cause it is, but the SSD-only storage will make it really snappy for her in the daily use that she does. In the future if you wanna throw a locked i5/i7 and a graphics card in there, it could still make a great gaming rig, and comes with a PSU ready to handle high end cards if need be (even if not so it's still an amazing deal for that PSU, which is a rebranded Seasonic S12II)

Saaame ffs me and my mom share this computer, she uses Firefox and I use Chrome. Even 12GB isn't cutting it, she leaves freaking 30 tabs open all the time, half of which are YouTube

Honestly I'd still go for my build. A 512GB SSD will benefit a lot more then an Hyper-Threading..

I mean, I dont even have an SSD in my build. Celeron just sounds bad. Not sure how they actualy are but....

I made an updated build thats fits an SSHD and windows into 405$

SSD will still be noticeably snappier then an SSHD.

To put it simply, Celeron is basically a locked G3258

@Aniallation do you have any experience with that SSD I've heard mixed reviews on it. Some say that the newer ones are having issues.

Yep, I've bought three of them so far for people and they all love it. Will likely get another one for myself this Black Friday or Cyber Monday
