I am going to be upgrading my computer this christmas.

      Current Build

  • i3 2120
  • GTX 550 TI
  • A Cheap Gigabyte MOBO
  • 2x4 Corsair Something decent.
  • 1tb WD Blue
  • 500w PowerColor
  • CoolerMaster 300 Case
  • Hyper 212+

I plan on re-using everything i can, because i'm on a $400 budget.

The Parts i'm currently looking at.

  • AMD Fx 8350
  • Gigabyte 78LMT-usb3 mobo
  • Kingston V300 120gb SSD. For new boot drive and a couple games.

I'm going for a bang for my buck kind of build, that's why i went amd.

I know my graphics card is out dated, but it's going to have to wait, i figured a new cpu was the smartest upgrade right now.

Does this look like a good upgrade to you guys?

I mainly play games, minor video editing and surf the web.

Here you go.

New GPU, motherboard, processor, and PSU.

I have never tested any of these parts, so I can't really guarantee no faults. I'm really only basing this on other sources. It says the H81M might need a bios update also.

Intel Core i3 4150 @3.5GHz - ASRock H97M Anniversary - Kingston Fury HyperX Black 8GB DDR3 @1866MHz - Gigabyte GeForce GTX 960 G1 Gaming 2GB GDDR5 - EVGA 500W 80+ Certified - WD Caviar Blue 1TB - WD Caviar Blue 160GB - Lian Li PC-50 - Linux Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS - Acer P221w 21.5" 1680x1050 60Hz - Kingston Fury HyperX Clouds - Razer Deathadder 3.5G - CM Storm Quickfire Rapid w/ Cherry MX Blues

Oh yes, I don't know if my parts will fit into your case, nor work well in it..EDIT: It also might need a bios update. (Not sure, but I've heard it might need a non-refresh Haswell processor. This is only with the H81M though.)
