How can i downgrade from windows 7 ultimate to home premium?

Hi,

 

Recently my windows has weirdly changed to windows 7 ultimate. I have home premium it keeps coming up with a message saying its not genuine.

 

How can i downgrade?

My system: CPU: i5-4670k CPU-Cooler: be quiet Dark Rock Pro 3 Mobo: Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD4H Ram: 8GB Kingston HyperX fury (red) SSD: Samasing 840 EVO 120GB HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 780 3GB Windforce Case: Fractal Define R4 windowed PSU: Corsair CX 600W Semi-Modular OS: Windows 7 Home Premium.

Laptop: Dell Laptop - Some crap i5 and 8GB of DDR3 ram. OS: Duel Boot - Windows 8 & Ubuntu!

Ultimate is superior in every way to home premium. why would you want to downgrade

Because i can do any windows updates etc.

What a line of garbage. It doesn't automatically upgrade itself. All versions of windows are on your computer to begin with, it's the product key that unlocks the features.

you cant downgrade only upgrade im afraid. You will need to do a clean install if you wish to go back.

I'm agreeing here, it sounds like you've pirated your OS and you're just trying to cover it up. A key doesn't work with a different version of the same series of OS.

Sorry dude but we haven't experienced that before, and as far as we know you'll have to reinstall the os to fix the problem.

Ultimate is actually worse than home premium, because it has a ton of useless features that slow down your OS. No regular consumer would ever use the features that come with windows ultimate.

 

A lot of kids think Ultimate is better because of the name, but its actually a waste of money for features they dont even know how to use.
