No problem :) Sitehint: You should be more detailed with your specs to avoid such problems like bk and non-bk. That can cause serious damage.

Brand new custom build, nothing on the drives except windows, steam, mozilla, java and minecraft.

It boots up fine, I get to the log in screen  (Windows 8), type in my password and then my PC just reboots itself.
I can start in safe mode just fine but I don't know what to do in that.

Specs:

CPU: i7-4790k

mobo z97-ud5h gigabyte

ram: 2x 8 corsair dom plat

gpu: 2x gtx 980 sli

psu: cx750m semi modular

drives: samsung evo 120gb

WD red 1tb (this one doesn't work though)

a71 chaser case

DG Xonar pci 5.1 sound card

TP-Link PCI express wireless adapter

The code I see while I'm in the login screen is A0 (might be AO, hard to tell), after it crashes it cycles through a bunch of random ones and goes back to AO.

From tomshardware 'IIRC, 'A0' actually means that control has been handed over to the boot device... I've seen this when I had the GP Diag card connected. So it *technically* isn't an error. I do agree that Asus should document these codes, but I think they need to get that info from AMI.'

I'm at school right now, but yes I can boot into safe mode - I mentioned this in the OP.

I believe fast boot is disabled.

Hm what bios version do you have on it? I7-4790k is only supported since F7 http://www.gigabyte.us/support-downloads/cpu-support-popup.aspx?pid=4950

Try flashing to F8 and see what it brings.

Regarding to this http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2209140/reboots-warning.html

bashbish

I am interested to know what happened with Cajun J s random reboot. I have the GA-z97x-UD5h also and having the same issue.

I went to the BIOS and changed the Power Loading setting to "enabled"

The Bios states the following:
Power Loading: Enables or Disables Dummy Load. When the power supply is low load a self protection will activate causing it to shutdown or fail.
If this occurs please set to enabled.

I just set it so the jury is still out. I will check back in if I get another shutdown or will let you know in a couple of days if all is well.

There seems to be a bios option to try out.

Since the cpu support list says F7 is the oldest version to support 4790K I would highly say thats the problem.

Support list. First in the list.

Alright I'll have to figure out how to install BIOS when I wake up.

Any tips to make sure nothing messes up?

Yes. DO NOT TURN IT OFF TILL ITS DONE. That will brick your board. Flashing itself is really simple. You only need an usb drive. Manual from gigabyte.
