Overclock not applying

I'm trying to overclock my G3258 to 3.7GHz to start, and I have the voltage set at exactly 1.000. I applied the voltage, and restarted, then went in to change the multiplier to 37 (for 3.7GHz), and I hit apply and restarted again. And, lo and behold, my CPU is still only at 3.2GHz. What the hell am I doing wrong?

Turn Turbo Core off and any Power saving features off in the BIOS

Did you update your bios? 

Already has the latest.

 

Turn Turbo Core off and any Power saving features off in the BIOS 

Did that first.

What board do you have? You might wanna try re-flashing the BIOS chip. I had the same issue on my P8 Z77 LE Plus board. Re-flashing the BIOS fixed my issues.

Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 5. I mean, in most games it doesn't actually bottleneck it very much (ETS2 runs fine and isn't bottlenecked at all, and Far Cry 3 might be bottlenecked a little), but in Bioshock Infinite it is terrible.

I did yesterday, and nothing happened.

 

its not gonna overclock untill you apply some load

thats how turbo works 

Um... Turbo only works on CPU's that support it, and it only boosts the core speeds up when temperatures and load both agree...

make sure you don't have speedstep enabled, that messed things up for me.
