I am currently rendering in Adobe Media Encoder and I'm hitting temps around 90-92 degrees centigrade. I've set the affinity core count to just 2, out of 8 and still I hit 90 degrees, how do I slowly render to reduce heat output?

Thanks.

task manager, set program to which priority

What if there are no other tasks going on besides the render?

you can set it to lower than average priority....

I've done that and it still uses around 100 percent.

Probably needs some time to adjust to which percent/priority

Hmmmm, how long would it take? I'm a bit worried about leaving this render at 90C and don't want to for much longer. It doesn't look like the load % is dropping at all.

What the hell did you do overclock it on a stock cooler? Was getting like 70C with stock cooler stock clock with i7 4770k

Nope, just 100% load that's all.

I re: my original post, it would still stay at 100 percent, it's just controls which one should get the most priority.

You can underclock your CPU but that would affect all programs.
Best solution is to replace thermal paste or buy a new cooler.

Dialling down that isn't really a permanent solution. if it's happening in that application, then it will happen somewhere else. Best to figure out a hardware solution to your cooling issues.
