Corsair fan question...

Linus' reviews of the almost any of the Corsair fans are gleaming. He almost puts them near the shining pedestal that he puts Noctua fans on when it comes to effectiveness vs. noise. I'm just wondering if anybody on here that actually owns these fans agrees? I'm considering getting new fans and it's between Corsair's good looking fans and Noctua's terrible-looking-but-highly-effective fans.

They don't perform as well as Noctua fans. Noctua fans can also be bested, however.

They are decent performers, not the greatest, but more significantly, not the greatest at their price point.

You can get better performing fans for the money but hardly better looking fans.

Noise levels are okay but nothing revolutionary.

who cares...

Some good fans:

Eloops

Multiframes

Spectre/Pro

AP121

AP123

Silent Wings 2

Hyperborea/Akasa fans

Cougar Vortex

Gelid wings

Nexus Basic

Twister Pressure

There may be some others that I missed, but those are good ones off the top of my head.

They look extremely good, performance is in-between, and definitely not the best for the price.

Gentle typhoons are arguably one of the best fans, but there is a reason I didn't put them on my list. Ever since scythe and nidec-servo had their disagreement, they stopped manufacturing the gentle typhoons, so good luck finding them anywhere.

Eloops are widely available and have performance very similar to the gt's

Granted, I paid a premium for them, but I just picked up four of them on Amazon not even a month ago, one of mine finally died.

How much did you pay?

$23 each, for the AP-15's

AP-45's have hit roughly $40/fan

Bad noise to performance ratio, but good build quality (Mostly, many complaints about the rubber things), aesthetics & price.

Personally I will never use them again. I like quiet.
