Capped FPS?

Hey guys, I built a new system recently. It has a intel 4690k and a gtx 970 4gb oc gpu. I have been playing skyrim recently with a few hd texture mods. The fps of my game always lingers at 61 fps and cant seem to get any higher although I know my card should shit on this game albeit being modded. I am using a 60hz monitor. Is that the only reason why my fps seems to be capped? Or is there some other reason?

vSync might be on. Also, depending on the mods you have, Skyrim can bring a 970 to its knees pretty easily. Also, if you have a 60Hz monitor, you don't really want it going above 60, so long as it's not dropping much,

you're playing Skyrim, which can be pretty nasty to even beastly graphics cards like the 970 depending on what mods you're using.

 

And you've got a 60Hz monitor anyway, so...

Either way, that experience is just about as 'uncinematic' as you're gonna get.

Hahahaha yea its probably vsync and the 60fps cap limit. Haha yea "uncinematic". Ubisoft just keeps digging

Uncapping the framerate in Skyrim causes too many glitches. I quickly enabled it back atleast..
