So I need one PSU with 750W. For starters, it HAS to have 80Plus G, due to energy here being a knife stab every month, and long periods of usage. So it'll pay itsefl up in time. I also want it to be very quiet, but still very reliable. And the cheapest one if possible. Options I have are:

1 - EVGA 750 G1 (lowest price)

2 - Corsair RM 750 (cuz it's within lowest and highest price)

3 - Seasonic S12G-750 (cost just a bit less than.....

4 - EVGA Supernova G2 (so... expensive....)

About 30$ from 1 to 4. But that is actually is A LOT to me, so factor this in. From the reviews I've seen, I'll just see a "4" spam, so I'm thinking of changing the title to "can I not go EVGA G2 and get one of these others?"

It's not the best quality though, and quality isn't an opinion, it's straight up fact.

The RM Series are their second lowest end 80+ Gold units, above the CS and below the AXx50. HardOCP rated the unit a fail, in an article I suggest you read here. http://www.hardocp.com/article/2013/11/13/corsair_rm750_750w_power_supply_review/9#.VGgoJ_nF_jY

Realistically, the G2 is the highest quality unit. Next comes the Seasonic, and then the other EVGA and lastly the Corsair for it's mind-numbing issues. I would see if you can get a Rosewill Capstone or Photon unit as well, seeing as both are also excellent (up there with the G2.)

I'd actually get the Seasonic if it's cheaper then the G2.

You can't be serious. When an RM is being put up against a Seasonic and a G2, it doesn't stand a chance.

 Where are you buying from?

Rather than going "lowest", "highest", "within the lowest and highest", etc. it would have been easier just to list the price of them so we can gauge the value of them...

Yep, I disagree. The RM isn't the best quality of the bunch.

Yeah....the g2 stomps the rm series. Don't know about the g1 series though, I am sure it's still good.

I am sure you guys are right, the only basis I was judging the corsair PSU on was the fact that all the corsair PSU's I have dealt with have just straight up worked; no issues so far

Just to be fair. Corsair has fixed the issue with the RM750/850 overheating with a revision shortly after the review had been put up. [H] even stated that if that is indeed true, they would even have passed it: "Corsair has verified changes made to RM units that would address the shutdown issues we experienced. These changes would very likely earn the Corsair RM series at the very least a "HardOCP PASS.""

Of course, the complaints regarding the cap choice still exist on these revisions

Well, Corsair does indeed have some good units. Quite honestly, none of which, I would go ahead and say "avoid at all cost. It will blow up" or anything like that. It's just that like any other companies, they have various of line-up of different qualities. You can't expect every product from them to be the "best quality" and this is true of other companies. If I were to rank them, I put them as such, EVGA G2 > Seasonic S12G > Corsair RM750 > EVGA 750G1

Btw, if you looking for a quiet PSU, you probably don't want the EVGA 750 G1. It's the loudest of the bunch. The G2 and RM would be your choice if you are looking for some quiet (the RM series being the quietest of the two).

My vote goes for the G2, as it's a high-end PSU that often price very well here in the US. http://www.ncixus.com/products/?sku=94405&promoid=1269

$99.99 or $79.99 after MIR.

Buying from Brazil. Dollar conversion would mean prices would be:

1 - 190$

2 - 200$

3 - 216$

4 - 221$

Also... I'd love some sound discussion as well :P

Thanks for mentioning that, I overlooked it myself.

I still think a company like Corsair should be watching themselves more closely. They had to have done testing before the units were released, but quite obviously there came to be issues. I have owned a Corsair PSU in the past, and admittedly it worked just fine (CX600M), and I really like them. I just wish they would drop Channel Well as an OEM. Even ignoring the early overheating issues, CWT and Corsair made the financial decision to use cheaper, less reliable capacitors on the secondary side. Rosewill didn't do this, and their Capstone line is both cheaper and higher quality in terms of internals. Their Photon series is as well, and it offers full modularity. EVGA are expensive, expensive enough to make most people explore other options, but we can still look around and find units that use the same or a similar SuperFlower platform for cheaper, such as XFX's ProSeries.

I believe Sentey is a well-known brand there. If so and it's available to you, I would recommend the Sentey Golden Steel Power SM 750w (GSP-750-SM). It's a Super Flower Golden Green unit internally (like the Rosewill Capstone / Lightning, Kingwin Lazer Gold, NZXT Hale90, etc). It's comparable to the Seasonic S12G (the Seasonic being a bit better) but semi-modularity.

If you didn't see my post, the RM series is quietest of the bunch - following by the EVGA Supernova 750 G2. The RM750 isn't a bad addition to the mainstream market if you are looking for something quiet, but it had been criticized for it's lower quality capacitor choice in which made some people worry about it's longevity in a semi-passive environment (where the fan doesn't spin up until ~50% load).

Personally, I'm welling to spend the $21 extra dollar for the G2, as it is a higher-end unit that offers me better build quality, electrical performance, and warranty. Also, it's still a very quiet PSU, as it's also a semi-passive design like the RM.
