First off sorry if this is in the wrong place because this is my first time posing in this forum..

We'll anyway, I'm looking at upgrading to an SSD. Right now I'm looking at the 840 Evo 120gb

What I will have on the SSD?

Battlefield 4

Adobe CS6

visual studio

And of course my OS

, the rest of my stuff I will have on my 2tb. So do you think the 120gb will be able to hold all that stuff? Or should I go up to the 250gb?

120gb = $104 NZD

250gb = $175 NZD

And do you think the Evo is a good choice?

Thank :)

lol for that price i might just get one. Not that i really need it...

I'm actually desperate. My system is taking over 5 minutes to boot to 8 but my motherboard doesn't have AHCI, just IDE.

One from a reputable/reliable manufacturer with a decent warranty. It's a vague answer, but honestly, all SSDs are extremely fast and (in my opinion), you'd be hard pressed to notice any performance difference from one to another in real world applications.

Case: Corsair 4000D Airflow; Motherboard: MSI ZZ490 Gaming Edge; CPU: i7 10700K @ 5.1GHz; Cooler: Noctua NHD15S Chromax; RAM: Corsair LPX DDR4 32GB 3200MHz; Graphics Card: Asus RTX 3080 TUF; Power: EVGA SuperNova 750G2; Storage: 2 x Seagate Barracuda 1TB; Crucial M500 240GB & MX100 512GB; Keyboard: Logitech G710+; Mouse: Logitech G502; Headphones / Amp: HiFiMan Sundara Mayflower Objective 2; Monitor: Asus VG27AQ

Not an SSD with a Sandforce Controller. well not now anyway. Intel did it right with the 520 and there are back on retail on newegg. I would say Sandisk Extreme II , .  Intel 730 if you can get it  on sale.  And the Samsung 840 pro is still going in stress tests from 2 years ago.
