Cpu to p5lp-le

Go to solution Solved by harrynowl,

<snip>

I was on about the Pentium E6600, which is a 3.06GHz 1066MHz FSB CPU. Not 100% on if it'd work though.

Conroe E6600 is still a good CPU to go for.

hello i got a p5lp-le lionite (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00864946&lc=en&cc=us#N134) as spare part i want to upgrade my cpu from a core 2 dou 1.8 ghz to something higher performance for 1080p or atleast 720p encoding youtube i have a cheap hd6350 to go with it (just for web browsing) BTW my cooling is a noctua nh-l12 overkill but was laying arround. tY

That's i945G, highest FSB support is 800MHz.

I'd say something like a Pentium E2220 is good, that's an extra 600mhz.

This site is good for chipset cpu support:

In which case, I'd try for something like a Pentium E6600. Just be sure to use the latest BIOS.

for any chance can it be compatible with a Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T9800?

T9800 is mobile, so no.

The board can only support up to Core 2 Duo E6XXX series -- which are 65W TDP rated Processors.

Any of the faster processors either have a higher TDP rating or a higher FSB speed.

You can try the faster 1333MHz FSB rating E7XXX / E8XXX CPUs, BUT you are taking a chance. If it doesn't work, then it won't be any use to you.

As mentioned by @harrynowl, the E6600 is one of the faster 65W, 1066MHz FSB E6XXX Processors.

Aside from that, there is the E6700. It's exactly the same has the E6600, but it is clocked at 2.66GHz versus 2.4GHz on the E6600.

Core 2 Duo E6700:

I don't know if you can buy any of these Processors new -- they are already 8+ years old -- and have been replaced by several of its successors. You best bet would be to look for a used one online, or locally.
