Yes you did read the title correctly my father wants to join the glorious pc master race, so I agreed to help him transform from a console gaming scrub to a glorious pc gamer. Anyways I talked to him a bit and he wants it to smaller than mine ( which is a full tower so preferably mid ), he wants to have a black/blue colour scheme and he wants it to have a window in it. Our maximum amount that we can spend after taxes is around 1000$ Canadian currency. I was going to build him something like this...

- AMD Athlon X4 860k ( CPU )

- Enermax ETS-T40 Black ( CPU cooler )

- MSI A88X-G43 ( ATX Motherboard )

- HyperX Fury 2x4Gb RAM ( blue )

- Sapphire Vapor-X R9 270 ( GPU )

- Corsair Graphite 230t ( Grey on black with blue LED fans )

- Seaonic M12II 620w 80+ bronze ( PSU )

- Seagate hybrid drive 1Tb ( HDD )

Thanks for your help.

Is the Canadian worth as much as the American Dollar? I can Google it, but it is often different in tech stuff.

He dosn't need an overclockable CPU, believe me. There is also no way we can stretch the budget any further. Thanks for your help though.

The Canadian dollar is worth less than the American, we will most likely end up purchasing everything on newegg.ca

Ok. First could you put this build in the Canadian PCPartPicker?

I think 620W PSU is a bit overkill for this build.. But I could be wrong.

The addition of an SSD is great however and something I would have recommended too.

It keeps your PC very fast which is just great. Maybe you can use @Speedbird 's build and 'downgrade' to a R9 270(X) and be able to afford that build

Ok, then switch to the 4590 and get the H97 PC MATE. Maybe you can spend the rest of your budget on a better GPU then?

Do you have an extra $4? You don't need the cooler but I just threw it in the list.

The stock cooler should be fine. You can always add a cheap aftermarket cooler at a later date if you need to.

Most of you guys have thrown the blue/black scheme out the window with the builds you have created, if i haven't mad myself clear already the blue/black colour scheme is a must he would also like to keep the 230t as his case. Also he doesn't want to spend too much money on anything not necessary, he will only be playing on a single 1080p monitor and he doesn't mind turning down the settings in games ( no lower than medium though ). Also he doesn't care for load times therefore he doesn't need an SSD ( his current pc is running on an old celeron with windowsXP ), so I hope I've cleared up some things for you.

Thanks again for your help.

Dude he doesnt wanna spend money on anything unnecessary, well throw the color scheme out the window on this sort of budget a color scheme is just gonna limit the performance. The build made by lee32uk is the best I have seen and if you want a color scheme you should have done it yourself IMHO.
