Ethernet to wifi converter?

I am building my first PC and I am going with a mini itx motherboard (without wifi on board). With the few number of PCI slots I was wondering if there was a converter out there that would plug into an ethernet port on the motherboard and convert it to be able to recieve a wifi signal.

Any and all help is appreciated, thanks.

Are you trying to describe a router? And you can get USB wifi dongles too.

Yes, you should probably be using a USB dongle.

I don't think you'll find ethernet ones since a wireless radio needs to be powered and USB can do that, while ethernet can't ( unless you use a POE injector, which again can't be applied to a dongle).

It's called a wireless access point. It's a lot like a router.
