Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 2. Almost the same performance as the Noctua but even quieter.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

It's not the cooler that is silent, it's the fans.

Grab yourself the Hyper 212 Evo & Noiseblocker PL-2 Fans, and enjoy the silence ;)

Get that dark knight cooler that TekSyndicate has been bragging about lately, it's got some ceramic coating on it that cools better for it's size or something.

IMO looks better than an nh-d14, I think it competes with it pretty decently from what teksyndicate says

It really depends what trade-off you're willing to deal with. The quietest cooler would always be a passive air cooler, but they aren't good for temps, especially when overclocking. I had a NZXT HAVIK 140, but I had to send it back because one of the fans developed a buzzing sound. Got a replacement NH-D14 and it performs amazing and is very quiet.

Wit is educated insolence.

Pretty much any good heatsink above ~$40 and then get Noctua fans for it. Fans make the noise not the heatsink. Water coolers have a pump which can get loud.

Pretty much what fishymamba said. You could also get Noctua fans for your H100i.

I have owned a Noctua NH-D14, a Corsair h100i, and a Corsair h80i (current)

I would say that the Noctua gave me the best performance and the least amount of noise, but the Corsair products look super awesome. It really just comes down to personal preference or how much room you have in your case. The corsair products will give you better airflow since you don't have a massive radiator thing in the center of your case.

It doesn't really matter what cooler you get... you can get a Hyper 212+ and be happy with the performance. Its the fans that matter, get either Noctua Fans or Noiseblockers and then pick a cooler that is in your price range that you think looks the best. Now if you're going for performance and silence that's a different story.

Thanks for the info. Are they much louder than Corsair SP quiet editions?

a hell of a lot.

your best bet is to get a single 120/140 rad and use pull with a good sp optimized fan. i think the h60 my gf has the 8350 is oc'ed to like 4.6 ghz and there is no noticeable temp. difference. unless you're doing extreme loads most 120/140mm rads are fine.
