I have a free version of AVG and a full (premium) version of MalwareBytes.

Someone may have been nice enough to give me a lifetime key for MalwareBytes.

Avast and malwarebytes.org is the best in my opinion. Both are about the same speed.

This is my opinion, it doesn't mean I'm right and is liable to change at any time. I may offend of which I apologize in advance.

Hello everyone,

I use Microsoft security essentials for virus scanning, i'm really annoyed about how long it takes to scan my system (1 ssd 250gb 1hdd 1tb).

What do you guys use and do you have scanning problems too?

These days I find the antispywares are more useful than any antivirus. You need a lot of them though because when it happens I rarely can get all of them with only malwarebytes. Being careful is realy the best safety now imo.

I still have Microsoft security essentials ... because why not.

Your welcome. MalwareBytes and AVG both have free versions. Also, I recommend reading the CoC for this forum right Here. :)

Depending on how much content you have (e.g. if you have 800 GB of movies, music, software, etc) it's going to take any scanner a while to sift through that much data.

If you're doing manual scans I would recommend doing it with Malwarebytes Free edition. You can run Avira, Avast, AVG, or whatever you want in the background for real-time protection.
