I'm going on holiday in a month and I usually find I can't only use my Phone or iPad for media.

I bought my MacBook at Gatwick last summer and didn't use it on the plane as I had nothing on it.

So my question is will it fit on the tray without parts sticking off the sides?

It's a 13" Pro.

Also, what are your experiences with Laptops on Planes?

Yes, it will fit easily. You will feel cramped, as usual, but it will probably increase your entertainment by a lot.

I always feel cramped on them, and last year it was worse holding a 3.5" phone with some terrible headphones. Hopefully this year's flight will be better.

Whenever I fly it's usually on a cheap plane due to money problems ( even though we could still go on holiday) could not afford such luxuries. I'm 6ft, in economy class with no leg room as the guy in front of me always has his seat reclined, I do not participate in this as I respect the person behind me enough to not slam the tray into their stomach which is what happens with me on every single flight. By the end of the flight I have no unfold my legs from underneath the seat and use my arms to move until my legs wake up. Wow, I've gotten off topic, but I usually just sit there for however many hours due to space constraints, or I'll read the in flight material if i can manage to fit it in front of my face. I have developed a way to sit in one place for very long periods of time and literally go unconscious, it's like sleeping but awake.

On a side note Mac books are beautiful machines and I wish I could own one in the future.

Say hi to NSA and CIA from me!

They're sharing a drink they call loneliness, but it's better than drinkin' alone...

Yeah, I suppose it's a waste to pay an extra £200 to be on an different airline where they will most likely use the same plane.

Unless it's Virgin, Virgin are good.

Well yeah, I'm only on a 4hr flight so it's not like I'm paying much to begin with.

Virgin are actually cheaper than BA in some cases.

They are? Which flights?

I found it to be £600, but that was a year in advance.

I currently have a 2012 one, I was kinda revealed when Apple didn't update it at WWDC because I had no money to upgrade.

How do the lower clock speeds and the 4Gb of RAM have an impact on OS X, is it like PC where 2.5Ghz+ is needed, or can I get away with a 13 inch Air?

It doesn't really affect it too much, I would get a 13" because of the SSD and portability.

I wish I got an air but I had to decide in 5 mins because I got it at Gatwick Airport - Tax Free.

£200 off isn't a bad deal at all, a steal really. All I need to do is save up all of the money to buy one which may be difficult as I don't have a job. Oh well, only time will tell.
