Be Quiet Shadow Rock 2 $40

mvitkun

according to Linus, Be Quiet! plans to sell their Shadow rock 2 high performance series heatsink for 40 USD,what has me doubting it is that everything Be Quiet! in the US so far has been around the $100 mark,so a $40 tower heatsink from them would be pretty great if it performs as well as their other heatsinks.

what do you think?

if it costs $40 would you buy it?

I would definitely buy it for $40 if it performs that well. It may even end up taking some customers away from Cooler Master Hyper 212 if it performs a lot better than it.

It'll be better than a 212 EVO for sure, but it probably won't come close to a Dark Rock Pro 2.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

For 40$ I'd buy this thing, probably twice, put one in my media PC and nail the otherone to the wall for looksies :D

it is large enough to be a passive solution I think as long as you are not overclocking, I know that I can run my hyper212+ fanless up to about 50% constant load and keep temps in check

Heh yeah, I'd get one for my shelf of ornaments and old PC parts that look too awesome to throw out (when my old 9800GTX+ dies it is getting a good clean and then taking center stage).

Put push/pull on that cooler and you'll probably see it competing with the heavy-weights.

If you can mount the fan on any face you want, it isn't much of a leap of faith to assume that you can put two fans on it at the same time.

I would definitely upgrade from my 212 if this is only $40! This is where a high pressure fan will help! Good thing I bought a Cooler Master Excalibur.

You may only get one set of fan clips.

That's what paperclips are for.

Paper clips are for clipping paper.

Paper clips are for clipping paper.

And for bending into shapes for other purposes :)

I would buy it if the mounting system is good. The Dark Rock Pro 2 has an embarrassingly bad mounting system.
