For my mini ITX build should I get the i7-4790k now or get the g3258 pentium now and wait for broadwell i7?

Since broadwell will feature lower TDP and mini ITX has less space for heat dissipation I would say wait for broadwell

Here you go (No MIR/Promo)

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861

Why don't you whack a poll up? These can sometimes help. But it's really up to what you ultimately think is best. ;)

ON A 7 MONTH BREAK FROM THESE LTT FORUMS. WILL BE BACK ON NOVEMBER 5th.

Broadwell is coming in Q2 2015 right? So that's quite a long wait, I am getting a 4790k now, broadwell has little or no improvement in performance in the CPU side (For desktops mainly, It just has GPU improvements).  (I am getting standard ATX tho)

Broadwell is really made for laptops, Lower heat, lower power usage etc, Great stuff for intel's whole ultrabook trend.

Broadwell is Q1 of 2015, Skylake is Q3.

WAIT FOR SKYLAKE-K

I see Broadwell as just a place holder until skylake

Broadwell does bring gpu improvements.

Haswell/Devil's Canyon gets my vote.  Broadwell is not much of an improvement, and the heat TDP reduction might not be too great.  The performance gain is only 3%.  Broadwell is an iGPU upgrade mostly.
