Gigabyte @ Blizzcon 2014

If that Brix has good cooling, I may pick one up depending on price. But it isn't even a GTX 760, it's a GTX 870M. Gigabyte, you've got some 'splaning to do :P

When the i5 Brix was released (the one that Linus reviewed) there was a thread on here which revealed that it had a 860m, not the desktop GTX 760 that Gigabyte claimed. Unfortunately I can't seem to find that thread.

The Gigabyte representative in that Blizzcon video insists that this new i7 version has the GTX 760. I'm sceptical.

At Blizzcon 2014, Gigabyte revealed their Gigabyte Brix with a Core i7 and desktop GTX 760 and their GA-X99 Gaming G1 WIFI motherboard

Yeah this thing is still a year or two early. With the new Maxwell it should be good to go and with Pascal it should be pretty incredible. I remember watching Linus's video on it and the 760 just can't come close to a desktop 760 due to heat.

This has to be scary as hell for the consoles. I imagine the 960 will use jack on power and should be able to be cooled pretty easily. AMD has die shrinks coming on everything. I literally expect these next gen consoles to be 200-250 bucks next X-Mas and 250 only if they come with a free game.

The die shrinks from AMD make that price cut possible, and I don't see how they can charge what they are charging now when these tiny boxes are going to destroy them AND we have low level API's coming so a dirt cheap CPU can be used in these boxes. There is no way in hell I would buy one of these consoles now.

250 bucks for the PS4 and Uncharted/Bloodborne and hopefully some other exclusives worth a damn? Maybe. All depends if we can emulate them by then,  and if PC doesn't get Bloodborne. XB1? No thanks. They have never had an exclusive I thought worth a darn. They should just put their games on PC. Forza at 60 FPS? I would buy. Forza at 30 FPS? No. Also not playing FPS games with little kids screaming.

CPU:24/7-4770k @ 4.5ghz/4.0 cache @ 1.22V override, 1.776 VCCIN. MB: Z87-G41 PC Mate. Cooling: Hyper 212 evo push/pull. Ram: Gskill Ares 1600 CL9 @ 2133 1.56v 10-12-10-31-T1 150 TRFC. Case: HAF 912 stock fans (no LED crap). HD: Seagate Barracuda 1 TB. Display: Dell S2340M IPS. GPU: Sapphire Tri-x R9 290. PSU:CX600M OS: Win 7 64 bit/Mac OS X Mavericks, dual boot Hackintosh.

If these console pc's manage to become real competition for the traditional consoles, then the only console worth buying because of exclusives and maybe controller is the Wii U

"Free". As in, "we're going to add 50$ to the price and say you get a "free" game with it!"

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)
