i7 5930k vs i7 5820k

 

without looking too much into it i can see one is 200mhz faster.

 

If i wanted to make a machine for development (compiling millions of lines of code, Maya and 3ds max rendering, photoshop, and after effects)

 

which would you get under those circumstances?

 

I know there are benchmarks but they are 200$ apart, so there better be quite a difference

They are actually the same cpu but the 5820k has 12 extra pcie lanes.

 Unless you are running more than 3 gpus the 5820k would be much better choice for you.

You can overclock both of them

It's the same except with one big difference, the 5930K has more PCIe lanes, and therefore can do a 4 way SLI setup, while the 5820K is limited to 3 way.

 

If you're not running 4 GPUs, which is a dumb idea anyways, just get a 5820K

Theya re actauly the same cpu but the 5820k has 12 extra pcie lanes unless you are running more than 3 gpus the 5820k would be much better choice for you and you can overclock both of them

i have decided on the 5820k

 

when looking at content creation benchmarks the 5820 is sometimes above the 5930k. im not paying 200 more $ to sometimes beat a cheaper product
