PC WONT TURN ON. HELP!

Go to solution Solved by Michael Rahmani,

It booted into the Bios and I just rebooted. Everything seems to be working now! Still don't know what the problem was but at least it is working. Thanks everyone!

Hello, my pc wont turn on. the motherboard is on and it lights up but when i press the power button on the case or on the motherboard nothing happens at all. Last time it was on it was when the power went out last week . I didn't turn it on since last week because I didn't have much time to game and since it is saturday today, I wanted to play some games but it wont turn on. Please help!

Thanks!

I would say to make it as barebones as possible and then testing it, slowly adding hardware to find the culprit.

He claims LEDs are lit on his motherboard.

Well if there was a power outage and your PC wasn't surge protected, it may have damaged some components. But you'd have to test them to be sure

It was plugged into a power strip so i guess that counts as a surge protector.

Not really. A power strip and a surge protector are two different things

Try this fix..

Take out your AC Connection (the PSU Cable) out of your PC, after that press on your powering button and then plug the AC back in.

Wait like 3-5 minutes and then power it on.

Sounds like the PSU has gone to PSU heaven.

Yes I had the same problem with my PSU. Replace the PSU and try again.

It would be. I had the same problem my motherboard was on. Nothing when I pushed the power button. I replaced the PSU. Tada, it works again.

He means unplug the power supply from the wall and hold the power button for a good 20 seconds to drain the power completely. I hope you're not using some no name brand.

Sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn't. If it doesn't work its likely that the power outage fried your power supply.

Most likely but he could always test it by bridging the green and a ground wire together.

Do you not believe me? I could post a video if you want.

That would help diagnose the problem a little easier.

That doesn't always matter. When I bridged my old PSU that is fried, it powered up the fan started spinning too.

Just for statistical reasons, may I ask, how old are you?

I don't really see why it matters, he needs help with his PC, he came here to get it.
