Deleted my recycle bin?

Near the bottom, there's a way to make a replacement recycling bin icon if you can't get it back by making a folder with the name

Recycling Bin.{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}

(you can name it what you want as long as it has the .{...} in.

So I usually tend to think I'm a pretty smart guy.  Until I do something like this.  Several months ago I was trying to streamline my dektop by removing all of the icons.  I could remove all of them but one: my recycle bin.  I went on google and found out how to do it and that was that.  Then, I discovered right-clicking on the desktop and simply hiding the icons.  I would like to get my recycle bin back so I can recover items that I might accidentally delete but I can't seem to find out how.  BTW, I am running Windows 8 Pro if it matters.  Any insights into my problem would be greatly appreciated.  Also, feel free to roast me in the comments.  I certainly deserve it, lol. :mellow:

What happens if you type "Recycle Bin" into the search function in Win8?

Not sure.  I'm away from home at the moment but I'll try that as soon as I get home.

Did you deleted some type of registry with regedit? if so, go to the web page you where when removing the r.b. and search the part where saying what to do... even if that's not it, still go to the web page, maybe it says something about undoing it. Good luck

i've done this before... lol stupid that MS lets you have the option to delete it.

just right click on the desktop

click "personalize"

click "change desktop icons"

oh... so did you regedit to get rid of it in the first place?

To be completely honest, I don't remember.  Probably, but I can't remember how I did it or what site i went to to figure out how to do it...

I know this is couple of months old now but thanks to everyone who helped out.  I Just made a shortcut that linked to the registry file.  It was about time too.  The bin was WAY full and I was wondering why my SSD was almost full all of the time...
