So i've been saving for quite awhile an was thinking of either buying a used razer (a friend of mine if offering me his 2014 razor for 1200$) or building my own rig. But an idea keeps lingering on my mind as i know that in custom built rigs i can install whichever OS i want, well, couldn't i do that to the razer blade? Formatting the hard drive and install the latests OS from apple. Since i would have a dedicated graphics card, games should run smoother on mac, right? Or would there be an incompatibility issue since macs aren't optimized for that?

Hackintosh is very hardware dependant, and could pose to be quite difficult to do.

But for $1200, you can build a much better desktop; so unless you really need the portability of a laptop, id go with a desktop.

But the support fr Mac games is stupidly bad.

thats not really so true anymore...

Laptops can be hackintoshed but things like certain drivers might not be compatible. If there is a second hard drive  (either a bay to put 1 or 1 installed but not used for anything regarding main OS, hack that drive and boot from it. Or if you have a spare hard drive hack that but keep the Razer drive safe so if all fails you can go back to it.
