Crossfire is AMD. Nvidia is SLI. Yes, you can go ahead if you want to. Sadly AMD sucks so it only has PCIE 2.0, meaning 2 cards will be running in the equivalent of 4X/4X PCIE 3.0. A bit of a bottleneck. The CPU is also a bit of a bottleneck. You'd get higher framerates out of an i5 than the FX CPU.

Those fans suck btw. I'd go with Corsair AF's personally or even better Noctua Redux. Also I like Crucial MX100, M550 and Samsung 840EVO better than Mushkin drives.

Intel Inside. Overweight guy in his 30's outside.

When used for gaming, graphics cards don't saturate PCIE 3.0 x4 so there wouldn't be any bottleneck there.

You know what's easier than buying and building a brand new PC? Petty larceny!
If you're worried about getting caught, here's a trick: Only steal one part at a time. Plenty of people will call the cops because somebody stole their computer -- nobody calls the cops because they're "pretty sure the dirty-bathrobe guy from next door jacked my heat sink."

I'm getting my information from tests that that I have observed my friend perform, I can get the results from him to post. The tests were done on PCIE 2.0 with a 780Ti with a 50% Overclock playing crysis 3 at max settings. The difference between x8 and x16 was within the margin of error and only bottlenecked when it was dropped down to x4 where it dropped to about 90% performance. So no bottleneck there.

You know what's easier than buying and building a brand new PC? Petty larceny!

Well, not really a 50% OC, but it's enough to prove a point I think.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Wbuf2CEUhVee2yAFgoYRRzUvurs51C7fZPNN-oPxn-w/edit?usp=docslist_api

Let's put numbers in perpective, 1-5% of 60fps is only around 0.5-3fps, I wouldn't consider that significant enough to be a sign of bottlenecking. Especially since cutting the bandwidth in half again from there only drops it down to around 90%, which is still quite good considering we're now talking about Gen2 x4. Gen3 x4 will be just fine.

I apologize, at one point he reached 1300Mhz so I just assumed that's what the benchmarks were at. I didn't mean to mislead anyone.

Sorry, it's just that 1200 was so much nicer a number :) the point was only to confirm a GPU bottleneck anyway.

It won't be a bottleneck a lot of people crossfire and they don't get bottlenecks.

If you want go with it but I don't think it's needed.
