Hello guys

So im thinking of building a new pc FINALLY cause ill get some monies! So, i7 4790K, maximus 7 hero, 16GB corsair whatever suits me and everything else AND a SINGLE Nvidia GTX 970 or 980 card! NOW the main question i have to ask is will it support a 4K monitor?? I wish to also TRY to buy if i can, the

ROG SWIFT PG278Q

but even if i spend so much as $1100 on it will the single GTX 980/70 card work??? or will i have to buy 2 of those and and tell my engineers to build a bridge in my pc???
All help greatly appreciated c:

For stable 60fps on 4k on high settings you'll want SLI 970 or 980

RIG: I7-4790k @ 4.5GHz | MSI Z97S SLI Plus | 12GB Geil Dragon RAM 1333MHz | Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970 (1550MHz core/7800MHz memory) @ +18mV(Maxed out at 1650/7800 so far) | Corsair RM750 | Samsung 840 EVO 120GB, 1TB Seagate Barracuda | Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 (Closed) | Sound Blaster Z                                                                                                                        Getting: Noctua NH-D15 | Possible 250GB Samsung 850 Evo                                                                                        Need a console killer that actually shits on every console? Here you go (No MIR/Promo)

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861

How long till you guys think we will get single gpu for a single 4k monitor at 50-60 hz??

At least two generation, I think, with the Nvidia Geforce 9xx series being the first one as I'm expecting quite an insane performer from them to replace the 780Ti.

A single 980 supports 4k.

Wether it's playable, depends on the game and what kind of FPS you are expecting.

4K Resolution does NOT require a minimum of 60 FPS..

Just boggles the mind why people even post that.

FPS / Resolution = NOT SAME

All modern GPU supports 4K

BUT, 4K playback and 4K gaming is entirely black and white. For playback you will only need maybe a 750 Ti, for gaming you will need to SLI 2 980s minimum

wow okay i understood, 2x970s it is, i actually have like a month before i get money to buy the rig so i will see how things go, but yea if im spending $2500 i might as well spend 3 and get a BETTER machine for 4K, BUT i also hear that most 4k monitors F the gaming experience??? is it true??? im not an expert, like almost all are not ideal yet, so if its too much asking again, do you guys think i should totally wait for 4k for a year or 2 or maybe just be ready and get the Asus ROG monitor?
