How likely is two dead cards?

Bought a brand new gigabyte amd radeon 7950 windforce edition from amazon it came on the wednesday computer didn't start and i took it to a store so i was told it was dead so i sent it back got another one today my computer still won't start help please. I have the system requirements for the gpu and I'm upgrading from my old 6850 when i start the pc the fans come on and everything but it won't start up.

The failure rate of computer hardware is under 1% so am not sure if you are that much unlucky. That's like winning the lotto (not a high chance).

Can you still enter your bios?

My monitor doesn't come on at all nor do i hear the beep when my pc usually starts so now i cant enter bios

try it on another pc if you can

it seems dumb but make sure you have all the cables firmly connected on the gpu and the psu if its modular and try another pci-e lane

You may have really just hit 2 bad draws in a row, if it still doesn't work it might be an issue with your motherboard

He has another Gpu working he said a 7950 so i dont think its a problem with the board. or does it vary with the Gpu in each scenario?

Are you plugging in the 6pin and the 8pin connectors from PSU?
