Worth the jump? GTX 770 to GTX 970 FTW

mindmatter

Amazon has finally added the GTX 970 FTW so will jumping from a GTX 770 to GTX 970 is worth the cost? My GTX 770 is a 4GB Classified.

I figure I can sell the classy for about 220 and use it to pay for the 970.

Gaming at 1080p, i7 4470k, 8gb.

Mainly battlefield 4.

I would still wait it out until it gets cheaper, unless you are getting a better monitor or more, etc.

Keep the 770 unless you really need a better graphics card.

Intel i5-6600k (Cooled by a 212 evo) - Asus Z170-A - Asus Dual OC GTX 1060 - NZXT S340 - WD 1TB (Getting SSD this month, hopefully) - 8GB DDR4-2400

LG G4 - Asus Zenwatch 2

If you are going to stick with 1080 I would just get another 770. If you are gonna upgrade your monitor to 1440p or something then I would get the 970.

There's nothing wrong with a 970 @ 1080p.

Nobody said anything was wrong with the 970 @ 1080p.  Basically it almost seems like a pointless upgrade if he is gaming only at 1080 @ 60 Hz if he already has a 770.  Now if he has a nice GSYNC monitor or gaming at a higher resolution, then upgrading would make sense.

I have a potato!
