I don't have a case yet because most SSI-CEB cases I've seen seems too fancy and over the top, if anyone has a case recommendation, I would greatly appreciate it ( preferably a clean case along the lines of the Fractal Design Define cases )

Does not look bad, but why does the motherboard cost so much?

It's a WS (workstation) board

Thanks, that looks like a really nice case, how did I miss it before, I wonder?

If anyone owns the KL04B, can you tell me your experience with it (does it hold up well?, is it nice to work in?) because I probably will have to ship it half way around the world and I hope that it hold up well (If anyone has a suggestion for a good shipping service to Viet Nam, that would be nice too, thanks in advance)

Its cool :D.

Also the monitor you're going to get is really nice.

Yea, when I saw LTT's review on the 34UM95, I fell in love with the monitor, now that the 34UC97 has thunderbolt 2 and a slight curve, I just couldn't resist getting it :P

You should be able to mount it in a Fractal Design Define case.  SSI-CEB has the same mounting points as ATX.

that's great then, I might get a XL R2 then

I plan to use my XP941 as a boot and software drive but I've seen people saying that on certain boards, you cannot boot using a XP941, can someone verify whether that is true or not? It would be a shame to buy one of the fastest drives on the market just to realise that you can't boot from it :P

yea, I'm still trying to figure out how to get a screen and a case oversea without completely destroying them, it's kind of a pain to live so far away from things you need, especially when it's tech stuff

Can someone please give me the answer to this question? I really want to know whether I can boot from it, I'm sick of slow boot / software startup, thanks

I've never heard of those, you could get a crucial SSD for 50 dollars cheaper, and it will still boot fast.

XP941 is a x4 m.2 drive, it's probably the fastest single commercial drive out there right now. I would prefer not to use an ssd because I really want to take advantage of the x4 m.2 that the x99 e ws has to offer

heres a benchmark of the XP941 http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/6372/samsung-xp941-512gb-m-2-pcie-ssd-review/index6.html

The write speed might not be as fast as other ssds but I don't think I need extremely high write speed for an OS / Software drive ( I'll probably cache and export to a hard drive )

According to Anandtech's review of the XP941 (as of May 2014), only the AsRock Z97 Extreme 6 was able to boot from it from the start, but Asus was going to update the BIOS on all their Z97 boards to boot from the XP941.

SSI-CEB is exactly like ATX, but at a longer length of 10.5" vs 9.6" on the ATX. If a case can fit in a E-ATX then it should also fit a SSI-CEB. Depending on the case, the extra length from the board you picked, might block the rubber grommet holes for your PSU and other cable routing.

ATX: 12" x 9.6"

SSI-CEB: 12" x 10.5"

E-ATX and SSI-EEB is 12" x 13", The mounting holes for SSI-EEB is slight off from the E-ATX, that means a E-ATX case may not work with a SSI-EEB board.

So most E-ATX, XL-ATX, HPTX cases should be fine right?

Yeah, most should do for a SSI-CEB board. However E-ATX cases may not work with a XL-ATX board. Standard cases have 7 i/o slots. XL-ATX needs one with at least 8-9 i/o slots.  And the HTPX case out there that I know of, is the Corsair 900D and Lian Li D8000

E-ATX: 12" x 13"

XL-ATX: 13.5" x 10.3"

HPTX: 13.6" x 15"
