Third time i've come across this topic on the forums (really wish that the search function actually worked, so I could blame members :P)

Every time I see it, I wonder slightly more, why is it even a thing? It completely undoes the concept and logical reasoning of buying a gaming laptop - small form factor. You midas well just go all-out and opt for a mini ITX build at this point.

A plastic cage with a 460W PSU and PCI-E slot, that uses a proprietary connector that only works with Alienware laptops for $300? No thank you.

It makes perfect sense

I am 99% sure I want the Alienware 13... and it has an 860m inside for portable gaming, but then, I can buy the cheap enclosure, slam a 970 in there and play games in 1440p when I am at home on my monitor :)

Also means I could take it to LANs isntead of my PC and it takes up less space than a monitor, keyboard, mouse and tower, and just a small box with a laptop

The laptop can be bought without it though too :)
