I'd like to introduce you to Katara. Let me know if you think improvements could be made.

Things I've since changed:

  • Ouroboros gone, the scroll wheel click messed up.
  • Overclocked 4670K to 4.0GHz.

Things I plan on changing:

  • New monitor. GTX 980 is clearly overkill for 1080p 60Hz.
  • New HDD. WD Green is just too slow.

Why in the hell did you pick a Green in the first place..?

This build is the end product of a long series of upgrades. The Green was bought years ago when I wasn't well educated on PC parts. I have since realised the error of my ways and I hope you can forgive me.

Hey Under_Score,

Sorry to hear WD Green is working slow for you. It is designed for secondary storage, saving power and running cool and quiet. For a main drive, I would recommend checking out WD Blue (if you are aiming for up to 1TB drives) or WD Black (if you are looking for drives up to 4TB). WD Blue is designed for everyday usage and it is a basic drive that is the most common pick to combine with a SSD. WD Black is designed for games and heavier workloads, works faster and has longer warranty. Here are a couple of links to check them out:

Another thing you should check out is your RAM. Your mobo only supports dual-channel but not quad-channel. If your budget allows it, you could get 2x8GB of RAM and benefit more from it rather than 4x4GB.

Hope this helps,
Captain_WD.

If this helped you, like and choose it as best answer - you might help someone else with the same issue. ^_^
