Blue snowball for Skype?

yes you can use it for skype!

The blue snowball iCE is certified for Skype, but the regular snowball isn't. The product description for the regular snowball says nothing about Skype. It just talks about recording. I want the snowball, because it comes in black. Can I use it for Skype?

you can use any microphone for Skype.

You can use pretty much any microphone your OS recognizes for skype.

It'll work, but it's overkill for the majority of uses of skype. Something like the cheaper snowball ice, a mod mic, a headset or a webcam probably would make a lot more sense if you aren't doing any recording/important business.

I already have headphones, so I decided to get a good microphone instead of a headset with a bad mic.

Right. I would still suggest perhaps looking into the Modmic. Costs a bit less, admittedly not as high quality, but still enough for Skype,
