If you're not planning to SLI, I would suggest one of these PSUs.

@AlwaysFSX please do some research rather then slapping down an answer to be the first one to the thread. There is a difference between a 500W EVGA 80+ and a 500W Seasonic.

nvidia rates their gpu for 550 min. Try to go a little higher if overclocking is some thing you plan to do.

Yea seems good, your estimated wattage is 312W so there is a good bit of headroom there for a 500W PSU.

That's to cover their asses for the brilliant people that buy elcheapo power supplies.

NOT on that power supply! The standard 80 Plus EVGA 500W is a horrible PSU, please don't get it and overclock a 4690K and a 970 off of it. Poor build quality and voltage regulation and ripple are also bad. At least the 80 Bronze version should be run at stock, but you should be considering a power supply from a reputable OEM if you're looking to run your system overclocked. Spend a bit more and get a proper power supply.

It's a noticeable quality decrease compared to even the 500B, and I wouldn't even recommend the 500B for an overclocked 4690K as well as an overclocked 970.

I think you're being far too harsh on a PSU that is so cheap. Of course the ripple isn't going to be among the best and nor are some of the components. I think it's a decent PSU for the price, especially when it's compared to some of the other crap at that price that explode after 5 minutes.

I wouldn't mind using it for a cheaper build, but considering the OP's components and intentions then it's definitely a no from me.

The system draws about 300W under load, doesn't matter what power supply you get, so long as it's good (which this one is) then you're not going to have a problem.

The class of the power supply and what the internal components were designed for definitely isn't appropriate for this situation.

It's not the best, no, but it works for the situation and you can draw a good amount of wattage from it since the system doesn't draw that much to begin with.

Considering OP is spending almost £800 on a PC, it's still a better idea to get something of higher quality.
